Haven’t posted in a while…it’s been busy around here.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend! How did you spend it? I was lucky enough to spend time with my family at the lake between showing properties to some great clients. I took my son fishing at Hickory Ridge, kayaking in Red Run Cove (for those with small children, he called it a Diego Animal Rescue Mission for the mallards that were cruising around us), boat ride, swimming, music sessions under a beautiful moon, and so on…I’m so blessed to live where I do. My son Sean caught (and released) ten fish in about an hour! We ran out of worms…

As for the real estate market, there are currently 69 properties under contract in the area ranging from a $30k home-site to a $2mm residence. One reason I believe we have this kind of activity amid a turbulent national housing market is that two of our core vacation home owner markets are the Pittsburgh and Northern VA areas and they are among the top 10 of healthy real estate markets across the country.
There will be a special Bear Crawl on July 23rd starting at the Discovery Center at the state park. Please come out and join the fun and support a wonderful project. People participating in the crawl pick their dated and stamped trail guide at the Discovery Center between 8:30 and 10. Visit all 20 bears and return to the Discovery Center by 5pm. Refreshments await all participants and all completed guides will be entered in a chance to win a table top carved bear!! Vendors hosting the bears will be offering incentives, coupons and specials for people on the crawl.
